Don't Find The Time, Make It!
The weekend passed by in a blur (doesn’t it always?). Last night I found myself feeling a bit disappointed and thinking “Ugh! I ran out of time to go for a run or do a weights session this weekend”. After contemplating this for a while, I realised that the time was ALWAYS there - this was more to do with how I was framing the situation in my mind. If I was being brutally honest with myself, I realised that I didn’t MAKE the time to get outside. It was as simple as that.
Last night I decided to change my mindset and create a mantra for the week: “Make. The. Time”. This morning I got up at my usual time, kitted up and got out there to make the most of the sunshine with a sunny run along the beach… and it felt SO good. The weekend remorse drifted away and I remembered how great it felt to do something that I love and hold myself accountable, rather than resting on an excuse. Whether it’s taking the time to prep your meals in advance or schedule in your training, take a few minutes today to think about how you can make the time this week to do more of what lights you up inside.
