When we say “made from natural ingredients” we really do mean it!
No hidden preservatives, hard-to-pronounce names or additives here... just maple syrup, date paste, lemon juice, lime juice, chia seeds and Halen Mon sea salt blended into a smooth gel to keep you fuelled up during training and on event days.

MAPLE SYRUP
Maple syrup contains a blend of sucrose and fructose, which are easily absorbed by the body. These are essential for a quick burst of energy when exercising. Maple syrup is one of our base ingredients and helps to give VALA its sweet edge. We use 100% pure Canadian maple in our gels.
DATE PASTE
Date paste is another one of our base ingredients as its sugars are easily digested and can be immediately moved to the blood after consumption. Dates can be quickly metabolised to release energy, which makes them ideal for endurance sports.
LEMON JUICE
Lemon juice is high in vitamin C and contains several essential electrolytes, including potassium, which is crucial for proper muscle function.
LIME JUICE
Lime juice helps to eliminate excess acids from the body, including lactic acid. It’s also packed with antibacterial properties. These citrus juices add a zingy aftertaste to VALA and complement the sweetness of the dates and maple syrup.
POWDERED CHIA SEEDS
Chia produces a gel-forming action, which slows the conversion of carbohydrates into sugar, allowing the body to be be fuelled for longer periods of time. We use powdered chia seeds to avoid that ‘gloopy’ feeling that whole chia seeds can leave in your mouth.
MATCHA TEA POWDER
Matcha is full of antioxidants called catechins, which reduce inflammation. It also contains polyphenols - the most potent antioxidant - and has more of these than broccoli, blueberries and dark chocolate. It also prevents our gels from tasting too sweet.
SEA SALT
Salt regulates water content both inside and outside of cells, creating an electrolyte balance and increasing hydration. We use Halen Môn salt as its distinct taste adds a unique taste to VALA (and Halen Môn is a Welsh company, just like us!)
VALA GEL
We blend all of these ingredients together to make a delicious tasting golden gel with a smooth texture.
